Short biography: 

Prof. dr. Aelita Skaržauskienė is an initiator and scientific leader of a research program for "Social technologies” and European-Asian knowledge consortium at MRU. Professor is also executive editor of international scientific research journal and member of different international scientific committees. She has substantial expertise and experience in the elaboration and implementation of scientific and study projects, coordinating participation of the MRU in more than 10 different project. 2007-2008 A. Skaržauskienė was leading the Project for development of Self-managing teams in European Parliament in Luxemburg and Brussels with DEMOS Group Belgium (www.demosgroup.com). Professor developed her competencies during the internships in the fields of social innovation and technologies at Ajou and EWHA universities in South Korea, USM university in Malaysia, Kasetsart University in Thailand, in universities of Kingston, Milano, Zagreb, J. Kepler University in Austria, Washington University, USA etc. She also has degree for Cluster Facilitator from IESE Business School in Barcelona.

Research interests: 

A.Skarzauskiene research field is application of new technologies in different fields of society life focusing on innovative leadership and management approaches in knowledge society (distributed leadership, collective intelligence etc.). Prof. dr. Skaržauskienė‘s research is based on principles of system theory, scientific research publications cover the topics of collective intelligence, online communities, clusters and networked organizations.
The special interest and challenge in COST action – how to develop reflective and inclusive social technologies based open spaces.
